A small wine cabinet believed to contain a malicious spirit from Jewish folklore.

The Dybbuk Box is one of the most infamous haunted objects in the world.
Originally discovered at an estate sale in 2001, the small wine cabinet was purchased by a man who quickly began experiencing terrifying activity in his home. He reported nightmares, shadow figures, and the overwhelming smell of jasmine followed by the stench of cat urine — phenomena later reported by every new owner.

In Jewish folklore, a dybbuk is a restless, sometimes malevolent spirit capable of attaching itself to a living person. Many believe the box was used as a prison for such an entity.

After multiple owners fell ill, suffered accidents, or experienced overwhelming dread, the cabinet gained global attention.

It was eventually acquired by Zak Bagans, who placed it in his Haunted Museum. Visitors frequently report feeling sick, dizzy, or overwhelmed with fear when standing in front of it.

Whether cursed, haunted, or simply the centre of a powerful story, the Dybbuk Box remains one of the modern world’s most unnerving artifacts.
